ČOV a.s. (joint-stock company) was established in 2006 as a 100% subsidiary of Biotika with the aim of providing comprehensive services to Biotika in the environmental field.
We focus on:
- Wastewater treatment,
- cooling water discharge,
- waste management services
- Waste recovery for biogas and compost production
We operate:
- Wastewater treatment plant
- Waste recovery facilities – anaerobic operation and compost production
- Laboratories.
In 2023, we processed over 8,000 tons of waste, nearly 99% of which was recovered. Part of the waste was used for biogas production (and subsequently for generating electricity), and part was used for producing compost for agricultural use.
We ensure air protection and elimination of potential odors by covering tanks, using biofilters, hermetically sealing anaerobic reactors, and other measures. In September 2024, we installed new technology at our composting sites to neutralize odor pollution, reducing odor by up to 95%.
